INDUSTRY: CONSTRUCTION
Smart Pour, a company from the US, designed the first real-time concrete pouring monitoring system, providing live data on pouring progress, form tie load, form pressure, and pour rate to ensure a safe and predictable process.
The construction industry has long been bound by experience-based decisions and manual checks when it comes to concrete pouring. Traditionally, contractors have had to:
At World of Concrete 2025, Smart Pour changed the game, launching a real-time concrete pouring monitoring system that eliminates these uncertainties and optimizes efficiency.
We spoke with Harley Meiers from Smart Pour to uncover how they transitioned from concept to a fully functional, game-changing product in just a few weeks. Read on to see how they leveraged Blynk’s connected software platform to bring their vision to life.
Smart Pour recognized that contractors lacked real-time insights into concrete pouring, often resulting in delays and quality issues. Their goal: build a system that could provide instant insights with minimal setup.
Designing and manufacturing a high-quality product requires significant time and resources, and this is where the team’s focus is needed most. Smart Pour partnered with Hankscraft Inc. to ensure a field-hardened design, manufactured with the highest possible standards and industry best practices, backed by 75 years of expertise.
'We have been engaged with Smart Pour on an electromechanical device for over 3 years prior to production. Working on design, materials, component supply, testing, certification and now ultimately production assembly. We are proud to be associated with them and the introduction of their ground-breaking products', shared Dave Schoell, President at Hankscraft Inc.
The team developed load cell sensors to track form pressure in real time. These sensors required a robust, scalable platform to collect, analyze, and visualize data for contractors and engineers.
Building an IoT solution from scratch is never easy, with core components including:
Smart Pour needed a faster way to solve this problem.
Bringing a new smart construction solution to market is usually complex and time-consuming, especially when ensuring reliability and ease of use for contractors in the field. Smart Pour’s partnership with Blynk allowed them to move at an unprecedented pace.
Rather than investing months into custom software development, Smart Pour chose Blynk’s platform for its:
‘We worked with the Blynk integration team, and it took about three weeks to get the front end user interface stitched together and about another week to validate and publish on both Android and iOS’ - says Harley
With Blynk’s support, Smart Pour launched ahead of schedule, making their debut at World of Concrete 2025.
'We thought we’d be pushing it to be ready in time, but with Blynk’s support, we actually deployed our solutions a week ahead of schedule'
Construction projects operate on tight schedules. Every day of delay costs money. By using Blynk’s platform, Smart Pour skipped the long development cycle and focused on hardware innovation, user experience, and go-to-market execution.
Smart Pour’s story proves that bringing an IoT solution to market doesn’t have to take years.

Not every company needs to build an entire product from scratch. If you’re looking for a faster, cost-effective way to launch or bring a connected monitoring system to market, Blynk’s platform gives you everything you need—from cloud to mobile apps—without heavy development.
